Deceased Name: PONTIAC - Minnie L. Frieden

PONTIAC - Minnie L. Frieden, 99, of 510 E. Oak, Pontiac, formerly of Chatsworth, died at 6:55 a.m. Friday (March 20, 1998) at Pontiac Haven.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Chatsworth United Methodist Church, the Rev. Sharon Monroe officiating. Burial will be in Chatsworth Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hager Memorial Home, Chatsworth.

Memorials may be made to Chatsworth United Methodist Church, Ronald McDonald House or a charity of the donor's choice.

Mrs. Frieden was born Feb. 21, 1899, at rural Chatsworth, a daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Dehm. She married John H. Frieden on June 2, 1921, at Kankakee. He died March 1, 1974.

She is survived by one daughter, Verna (Dan) Arends, Melvin; one son, Donald (Betty Jo) Frieden, Pontiac; and one sister, Alma Jirasek of San Bernardino, Calif.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Randy (Bonnie) Arends, Ronald (Alison) Arends, Brian (Patricia) Frieden and Shelly (Michael) Murphy; six great-grandchildren, Stephen, Gregory, Trent and Tyler Arends, and Vincent and Cassidy Murphy; and two step-great-great-grandchildren, Kendra and Barrett Spivey.

Mrs. Frieden was a homemaker who enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting and her family. She was a member of Chatsworth United Methodist Church.
