Mildred Joann Shelton was born a daughter to Emmett Esley Shelton and Beulah Cordelia Gillespie Shelton.

She married Coy Wesley Gray, a son of John Richard Gray and Jewell Gann Gray on Sunday, October 13, 1935.

Funeral service for Mildred Shelton "Mammaw" Gray, 92, of Moulton will be today at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Agee officiating.

Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery in Trinity. The family received friends Saturday from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gray, who died Friday, Feb. 5, 2010, at Lawrence Medical Center, was born Aug. 3, 1917, to Emmett "M" Shelton and Beulah Gillespie Shelton in Morgan County.

She was married to Coy Wesley Gray for 46 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family, friends and neighbors. She was always helping someone and had a desire in her heart for others. She always put someone before herself. She was a member at Flat Creek Baptist Church and worked at the Lawrence Corporation for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband; two sons, Douglas Wesley Gray and Coy Dwight Gray; her special great-grandson, Cainan Tidwell; her special great-granddaughter, Danielle Gray; four brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include her son, Hershel Gray, and wife Nadine of Moulton; three daughters, Carolyn Bolan and husband Melvin of Moulton, JoAnn Layton and husband Ricky of Trinity and Darlene Norman and husband Jay of Inman, S.C.; her daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Gray; her brother, M.V. Shelton; two sisters, Violet Heaps and Madlyn Terry; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two special caregivers, Linda Flowers and Gayla Lewis; her best buddies, Wayne and Reba Sivley; and a host of friends and other family.

Pallbearers will be Brian Gray, Jason Gray, Richard Moats, Stoney Bolan, Ashley Terry and Ryan Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Garrett Smith, Wesley Gray, Lamar Gray and Wayne Sivley.
