Obituary: James "Jim" Hacker


TORRINGTON, Wyo. - Funeral services for James "Jim" Hacker, 62, will be held on Monday, April 9, at 10 a.m. at the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church with Reverend Steven Seng officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery.
Jim died on April 3, 2012 at his home in Torrington.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Colyer Funeral Home.
Jim was born on November 3, 1949 in Torrington the son of Perry and Mildred (Foote) Hacker. He grew up and received his education; graduating Torrington High School in 1968. He then went to work at Hacker Oil where he was employed until his untimely death. He married Scherri Franklin on July 31, 1998 at the Little Moon Lake Supper Club. In February of 2006, Jim and Scherri leased A.J.'s Sinclair Service Station and Convenience Store from Hacker Oil and have operated it since.
Jim enjoyed horses and roping, fishing and golfing. He was a member of the American Golf Association, the Cottonwood Country Club, the Scottsbluff Country Club, and the First Wyoming United Presbyterian Church.
Jim is survived by his wife, Scherri of Torrington, son Brian Hacker of Rock Springs, Wyo.; daughters, Ashlie Hacker and Shawna Hacker-Paules both of Torrington; and Christy Hacker of Sturgis, S.D.; his mother, Mildred "Mickey" Gulley of Torrington; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Dorothy Hacker of Torrington; and sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Bob Tibesar of Las Vegas, Nev.
He was preceded in death by his father and several aunts and uncles.
