A SUDDEN DEATH

Word reached Linton last Sunday afternoon that Comrade John Henderson had died suddenly the morning of that day, the cause of death being an obstruction in the intestines. His death was very sudden. Mr. Henderson had attended the caucus meeting in Burge precinct the previous Saturday, and at that time was feeling as well as usual. Only a few hours elapsed between the time when he was taken sick and the time of his death.

Deceased was an early settler in Emmons county, and had lived here nearly a score of years. He was hospitable and kind hearted, having the friendship of all who knew him. He was honest and straightforward in all his dealings. For several years immediately previous to his death he had been postmaster at Winchester, this county.

Mr. Henderson served in a New York regiment during the civil war, and afterward enlisted in a regiment of regulars.

The interment took place Tuesday in Beaver Valley cemetery, the Rev. J. E. McKinney conducting the services.

Comrade Henderson is survived by his wife and five children, to whom the sympathy of the entire community is extended.

CARD OF THANKS.

We desire to thank our friends and neighbors for their aid and sympathy in our hour of bereavement.
