He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He farmed in the Chatsworth area for many years, and also raised hogs.
Marvin is survived by his daughter: Liesa (Steve) Simnick of Danforth, his son: Mark (Kelli) Henrichs of Pontiac; stepdaughter: Judith Reinitz Roach of Danforth, two stepsons: Randall Reinitz of Canton, GA; and John (Robin) Reinitz of Chatsworth. Also surviving are his sister: Henrietta Dehm of Bloomington, three sisters-in-law: Bernice Henrichs and Muriel Inboden both of Bloomington, and Shirley Martins of Brownsburg, IN; his brother-in-law: Philip Close of Manhattan, IL; 18 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandson Justin Reinitz, four brothers: Lloyd Kemnetz, Burnell Henrichs, Paul Henrichs and Howard Henrichs (in infancy), and his sister: Annamae Close.
