J. MACHIA, 49, PASSES AWAY AT HOSPITAL
James Machia, 49, who conducted a boarding house at 1215 Franklin street and was also employed at the plant of the Portland -Cement Co. here, passed away this morning at the hospital of typhoid Fever. He had been ill for the past Three weeks. The deceased was born at Casco, Wis. and later lived at Powers, Mich., where he was married 27 years ago to Gertrude Wheeler, who survives him with four daughters. Mrs. Alton Brandt, Evelyn, Beatrice and Harriet and four sons. Hector, Kenneth, Elmer and Raymond all of this city. Two sisters, Mrs. William Peters and Mrs. Ernst Jackson, both of Sturgeon Bay, and four brothers. Walter, Henry, Clarence and William, all residing in Michigan also survive. Mr. Machia and family moved to this city eight years ago to make their home. Funeral services, which will be private, will take place Tuesday morning at 9:30from the Pfeffer chapel, Father Luby officiating. Interment will be at- Evergreen. There will be a special mass on Thursday morning at eight o'clock at the Sacred Heart church.
