CHARLES MAJER

Following a lingering illness, Charles Meyer Sr.(sic), 80, died Sunday evening
at the home, 1110 Elm Street. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm
from the Wattawa, Urbanek and Schlei funeral home, Milos Dushek officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Meyer was born in Bohemia in 1863 and at the age of 18 years came to
Wisconsin. His parents came here a year later and located on a farm at Kings
Bridge. In 1892 he married Miss Rose Soukup and they located on a farm in Gibson
where they resided until 18 years ago when they moved to Manitowoc.
Mr. and Mrs. Meyer observed their golden wedding anniversary in May, 1942. Mr.
Meyer was a member of the Z.C.B.J. Lodge of Melnik.
Survivors are the widow; two sons, Miles of this city, Charles of Route 2, Two
Rivers; daughter, Mrs. Joseph Krish of this city; sister, Mrs. Nick Siebenborn
of Maribel; four half brothers, Ladislaus and Emil Cherney of this city, Adolph
Cherney of Maribel and Gustave Cherney of Mishicot and a grandson, Vernon Meyer,
overseas on the south Pacific.
The body may be viewed at the funeral home from Tuesday noon until the hour of
service.
