Carl F. Meyers Sr., 91, of 914 Division St., Manitowoc, died Saturday afternoon in Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday in First German Evangelical Lutheran Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Norval W. Kock will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Meyers was born Aug. 25, 1885, in Forestville, son of the late Joseph and Mathilda Mueller Meyers. He was reared and educated in the Forestville area, moving to Manitowoc in 1905. Oct. 24, 1911, he married Amanda Wilke in First German Evangelical Lutheran Church. He and his wife operated Meyers' Clover Farm Store in Manitowoc from 1918 to 1947. Mrs. Meyers preceded him in death Sept. 18, 1973. He was a member of First German Evangelical Lutheran Church and a past member of Manitowoc Retail Grocer's Assn.
Survivors include a son, Carl H. Meyers and a daughter, Mrs. Frederick (Jean) Toltzman of Manitowoc; two brothers, Edwin of San Diego, Calif., and Alfred of Elmwood Park, Ill.; a sister, Mrs. Della Wehausen of Milwaukee, eight grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A son, Raymond, a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Kunish, three brothers and five sisters preceded him in death.
Friends may call in Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home 6 to 9 o'clock this Monday evening and in the church Tuesday noon until the time of service. Memorials may be made to First German Evangelical Lutheran Church building fund or Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
