CHARLES MICHELSON

Charles Michelson, 77, an employe of the Chicago and North Western
railroad for 31 years, died Saturday afternoon after suffering a heart
attack while he was walking on Washington street, between 14th and 15th
streets. He resided at 1025 S. 15th street.
Mr. Michelson retired from his work as a railroad baggageman about eight
years ago. For many years his run took him between Milwaukee and Antigo.
In later years he worked on the Manitowoc-Eland run.
Mr. Michelson was born Nov. 11, 1863, in Norway and came to the United
States with his mother when he was five years old. They joined their
husband and father in Chicago and came to Manitowoc where they established
their home. On Oct. 30, 1912 at Kaukauna, Mr. Michelson married Miss Meta
Kilgas. She is the only immediate survivor.
The body is lying in state at the Wattawa, Urbanek & Schlei Funeral home
where funeral services will be conducted Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock by
the Rev. R.B. Walden, pastor of St. Paul Lutheran church. Burial will be in
Evergreen cemetery.
