WM. P. MILMAN LAKE ENGINEER, DIES IN CITY
William Peter Milman, 67, widely known marine engineer, passed away at
the home, 1111 Huron street, last night. Had he lived until Sunday he
would have reached his sixty-eighth year. He retired from engineering
several years ago and has made this city his home for ten years. He is
the father of Mrs. I.W. Whitaker and is survived by his mother, Mrs.
Anna Milman, of Racine, who is more than 93 years old.
Funeral servicers will be held Monday morning at 9, at the Sacred Heart
church, the Rev. Father Becker officiating, and burial will take place
at Evergreen.
Mr. Milman had been engaged in sailing the great lakes and the Atlantic
for many years, but for the last seven years has been employed at the
Aluminum Goods Manufacturing company in the city. A number of years ago
he sailed a pleasure yacht down the Mississippi, to St. Johns and
Florida. He is well-known on the Great Lakes.
He was an only child and beside his mother and wife, who was Anna Thompson
before their marriage on ???????? 24, ????, is survived by a son, William,
of Hartford, a daughter, Mrs. I.W. Whitaker of this city and two grand-
children, Elizabeth and Abigale Whitaker.
For years the Milman home was at Racine, and later at Evanston.
