LESTER MITTNACHT

Lester H Mittnacht, 67 of 1113 S 23rd St., Manitowoc, died Friday
noon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, following a lingering illness.
Funeral Services will be at 8:30 am at Mittnacht Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, and 9 am at St. Mary Catholic Church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr
John S. Landowski will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen
Cemetery.
He was born Aug. 8, 1895, at Manitowoc, the son of the late Peter and
Anna Coutley Mittnacht. He was educated in Manitowoc Schools and for
27 years was employed as a switchman for the Chicago & North Western
Railroad. In the 1930's he was employed by the City of Manitowoc,
first in the streets department and later with the cemetery and parks
division. During World War II he was employed as an outside machinist
by the Manitowoc Shipbuilding Inc. He retired in 1960. He married the
former Erna Hopf in 1914. She died in 1916. In 1921 he married the
former Arabella Langlois of Manitowoc who survives him. Other survivors
include a son, a daughter, a brother, a sister all of Manitowoc: six
grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Friends may call after 3 pm Sunday at the funeral home where the Rosary
will be recited at 7:30 pm Sunday.
