Mrs. Joseph Napiezinski, 82, of 2210 Waldo Blvd., Manitowoc, died Sunday afternoon at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, after an illness of several months duration.

Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Mittnacht Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10 a.m. at Holy Innocents Catholic Church. The Rev. E.A. Radey will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.

The former Lucy LaFond was born May 5, 1880, at Two Rivers, daughter of the late Alfred and Audreen Bachus LaFond, a pioneer family in that community. Her father had been one of the early commercial fishermen at Two Rivers. She attended St. Luke Parochial School and Two Rivers High School.

She was married to Joseph Napiezinski at St. Luke Catholic Church on June 14, 1898, and the couple lived at Two Rivers Point Lighthouse and Chambers Island Lighthouse, where her husband was lighthouse keeper, until coming to Manitowoc in 1911. They marked the 60th anniversary of the wedding in 1958.

Surviving are her husband, two sons, Gerald of Manitowoc and John of Two Rivers; six daughters, Mrs. Clarence Teitgen and Mrs. Christian Christensen of Manitowoc, Mrs. Henry Brocher of Avon Lake, Ohio, Mrs. Earl Harmes of Fox Point, Mrs. Robert Taugher of Milwaukee and Mrs. Jerome Harlow of Ashtabula, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. A son, Ray, died in 1948.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday where the Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. by Holy Innocents Christian Mothers Altar Society and Catholic Woman's Club. She was a member of both organizations.
