*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Margaret Ruth Comstock was born to William Ervan Comstock and Mary Rose Wolf Comstock in Joplin, Missouri. She married Jewel Fred Parks on Dec 20 1935 and was the mother of two children: Shirley J. Parks O'Neal and Freddie Parks.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Feb 3 1999 and her daughter on July 6 2002; her parents Will Comstock on Dec 1 1918, her mother Mary Comstock on Dec 2 1918, her sister Hellen "Juanita" Comstock on Dec 21 1918, her maternal grandmother Adora Ellen Wilson Wolf on Dec 5 1918, her maternal grandfather George Gibson Wolf on Dec 9 1918, her paternal grandmother Nancy Jane Davis Comstock on Mar 12 1960,her paternal grandfather Dec 29 1932 and a granddaughter Sherry O'Neal Stoner on May 21 1983; an uncle Walter Altrie Houser on Dec 5 1918 and a cousin Mark Altrie Houser on Dec 5 1918;2 sisters Mildred E. Comstock Hampton on Mar 24 1971 and Pauline Hope Comstock Crowder on Jan 4 1994.

She was survived by her son and 6 granddaughters, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

When her parents died, Margie was barely 2 years old. Her surviving sisters Mildred & Pauline and herself were sent to live with their father's parents. Hearing stories from Aunt Margie and my grandmother (Pauline) all my life and from my mother (Norma Lee Crowder Capps) and Aunt Margie's daughter Shirley, Grandma Comstock (Nancy Jane Davis Comstock) was a very stern (to put it nicely) old lady. I never tired of hearing those stories, and I believe that in some ways... it made Aunt Margie and my grandma feel better to tell those stories over and over.

Something that my brother told me that was told to him, one of the three surviving daughters of Mary Rosa Wolf Comstock got into bed with their mother after she had died. I believe it might have been Aunt Margie who would have only been 2 years old.
