Born in the Territory of New Mexico to G. G. Reeves and Mary Jane Johnson Reeves. He was the 9th of 13 children.

He married Mildred Strader on Oct. 6, 1939 in Roswell.

Retired peace officer; served as the last constable of Chaves County. He was member of New Mexico Sheriffs and Police Officers Association; also belonged to the American Legion

He ranched in the Sacramento and San Andrus mountains; worked at Malco Refinery; and then the Roswell Police Department. He also worked as a fireman at Orchard Park interment camp and in the city of Roswell.

Survived by his son, Lewis Lee Reeves of Artesia and two grandsons, Richard Reeves and Raymond Reeves, both of Artesia. He was also survived by 9 nephews and 22 nieces. He was also survived by 5 sisters: Georgia Strickland of Roswell; Jennis Penick of Phoenix; Lillie Munson of McGregor, Tex. Roxie Hardin of Las Vegas, Nev., and Nora Paxton of El Paso, Texas.
