Actor. He acted in dozens of films and television shows throughout his career, with his best known role being as 'Hollis Mulwray', the unfortunate Water Authority Commissioner in director Roman Polanski's 'Chinatown' (1974). Among other films he appeared in were 'The Secret Life of an American Wife' (1968), 'Lady Liberty' (1972), 'Our Time' (1974), 'The Ultimate Warrior' (1975), 'High Anxiety' (1977), 'Grease' (1978), '…And Justice for All' (1979), 'The Main Event' (1979) , 'Texas Godfather' (1986) and 'Joe Versus the Volcano' (1990). On TV he appeared in 'Kojak', 'Mannix', 'Columbo', 'Police Woman', 'Sanford and Son', 'Alice', 'The Boy in the Plastic Bubble', 'The Blue Knight', 'Quincy, M.E.', 'Little House on the Prairie', 'Starsky and Hutch', 'Buck Rogers in the 25th Century', 'Barney Miller', 'Tenspeed and Brown Shoe', 'Father Murphy', 'Trapper John, M.D.', 'Simon & Simon', 'Cagney & Lacey', 'Matlock', 'Hill Street Blues', 'The Young and the Restless', 'L.A. Law', 'Dynasty', 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show' and 'Murder, She Wrote'. Zwerling died in April 2014 from undisclosed causes but his death was not disclosed until September 2014 by The Julliard School in New York.
