WRITTEN BY TOA'S SISTER HELEN:
Let's see...Toa is a graduate of South San Francisco High School, Class of '78. This is the school John (Also on Find A Grave) and I graduated from, too. Actually, I think most of the family graduated from there. Sika, Charlotte, Dave (Also on Find A Grave), Tony, Sila even my kids almost did, but we moved to San Mateo before that could happen. They did attend there for their first two years. We were all WARRIORS! Toa was born in a Chinese Hospital in San Francisco. How that happened, I will never know...lol!! I was born there, too...he he! He loved his nieces and nephews to the fullest. Everytime he knew that one of you guys were around, he'd call and ask me where you were. All the kids remember Toa as being the one who tried every wrestling move on them. He loved to drive around and look at the sights. His favorite spot was Oyster Point in South City. I think his favorite job was at Georgia Pacific where he worked with John and a lot of other relatives. His favorite singing group had to be Earth, Wind and Fire. Everytime I had a problem, I'd call him just to talk and sometimes, he would drive all the way to my house from Sacramento just to make sure I was OK. He had such a good sense of humor and never showed any anger towards anyone. He never held a grudge. Those are just a few of the things that i fondly remember of my brother. Our relationship was so close and I miss him dearly.

Toa was a cousin of my husband's. His parents are Toa Asafo Sr. and Nautofiga Mauga Lei Asafo. Both from Nu'uuli, American Samoa. Both also proceeded him in death. He has two sister's, Rosalei Muao and Helen Asafo Vaili.

He married Terri Folauoo on September 14, 1985. To this union were three children. Dennis Asafo, Lomialii Helen Asafo, and Nautofiga Patricia Asafo.

September 24,2008 Toa's daughter Nautofiga gave birth at Mercy Hospital to a baby girl named Patricia Emerald Asafo/Naiuli. She is the biggest baby in their family weighing in at 10 lbs & 3.4ounces at birth.

Toa is buried with his mother, and near his cousin David Lewis Fisaga. (Also on Find A Grave)

Pall Bearers: Dennis Asafo, Tuaumu Vaili, Dennis Folauoo, Joshua John Solaita, Ron Tolufale, Wesley Vaili, Toa Vaili, Laupati Solaita, PJ Uperesa, and Benjamin Sili.
