Uncle Craig: My grandfather's brother. Craig Elwood Lear was born November 6, 1890 to Henry and Martha Lear. He was one of 10 children. He died August 6, 1977 at 86 years old. He was born and reared and died in Shreveport, Louisiana. He completed his high school education there. At 16 years old he united with the Light Hill B.C. Church. He married Maggie Rambo and moved to Bivins, Cass County, Texas. After living in Texas for 14 years, they moved back to Shreveport. He had 3 children, but their son died in his infancy. Dorothy Lear Pollard, and Juanita Lear Terry were his two daughters. He was a member of the Mt. Moriah Lodge No. 121, Shreveport, Louisiana. He was also into politics and won awards for his input. He lived and ran a general store, gas station, and post office for many years on the Cooper Road, which is now Martin Luther King Highway. In earlier years he had a restaurant that he operated with his brother, Bud. He had a great sense of humor, and would keep you laughing all the time. He was definitely a business person, and did take care of business. His grandson Elwood Pollard and Nettie have 3 children. Juanita Michelle, Marilyn and Craig Pollard. Numerous relatives and friends miss him dearly. He is buried Lake Bethlehem Cemetery in Shreveport, Louisiana

His Siblings were: Henry James, Dorothy, Martha Beulah, Earnest Green (Bud), William Atlee, Mary Green, Joseph Dewey, Ruthie, and Thomas Calvin.
