Jozef is the son of János (John 1878-1921) and Anna Veronica Pollock Ádám(s) (1882-1947) who emigrated from the Budapest area of Hungary in 1898 settling in Daisytown, Pennsylvania. After the death of his father the family, with the assistance of his mother's cousin, Steve Pollock was moved to Terre Haute, Indiana. Jozef is the brother of John (Janos) Paul Adams, Bertha Marie Adams, Anna A. Wood, Julia Anna Vencel, Helen Irene Korenski, Esther Michki, Ethel Isabell Korsarko. Husband of Doris Evelyn Lawson Adams (1925-), father of James Joseph "Jimmy" (1952-) and Jerry Wayne Adams (1955-), grandfather of Robert Joseph (1977-) and Kristyn Lyn (Adams) Adkins (1981-), great grandfather of Bryson James Adkins (2010-), Collins Veronica Adams (2014-) and Kynze Marie Adkins (2015-). He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, John (1917-1971); sisters, Anna (1909-1947), Esther (1910-1978), Julia (1905-1990) and Ethel (1908-1992), followed in death by sisters Helen (1921-1998) and Bertha (1912-1999). He worked as a wood pattern maker, becoming a master wood worker, a machinist, maintenance man, a butcher and was a jack of all trades becoming a master of most of them. He also served as the neighborhood barber. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who also enjoyed baseball, football and basketball as well as being a top notch bowler and pool shooter. He was employed at the T.K. Nasser Market, the Terre Haute Malleable, Gwinn Brothers Pattern Shop and Modern Aluminum Casting Co, retiring on April 17th, 1981. He is a retired member of the International Allied Molders Union and attended the former Scared Heart School and the former Terre Haute Gerstmeyer Technical High School. He is a former member of Sacred Heart Church and the Hungarian Lodge. Loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. Purple Heart veteran, World War II, US Army, Italy.
