American Auto Racing Driver. He raced in sprint cars locally for around a decade before he joined both the United States Auto Club (USAC) Sprint & Championship Dirt Car (later renamed as the Silver Crown Series) Divisions in 1981. The following year, after he finished third in the 1982 USAC National Sprint Car Series Championship, he was picked as the winner of that year's USAC Sprint Car Rookie of the Year Award. In 1983, he earned his first USAC win at a race in Lawrenceburg, IN, then earned his second and last USAC win in a race in Eaton, IN in 1984. In 1989, he finished fifth in the Golden State 100 Race in Sacramento, CA, then in the USAC Championship Dirt Car Division Race of the Hoosier 100, he led 13 laps and finished sixth. Both his life and career would come to a tragic end when on the seventh lap of the USAC Silver Crown Race in the Copper World Classic at Phoenix International Speedway, he accidentally clipped the left rear side of Mark Alderson's car, which collected them both and sent them crashing hard into the outside wall on the first turn. He was quickly airlifted to the nearby St. Joseph's Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead on arrival. Overall, he made 123 career starts, two wins and seven podiums.
