Maria was born in Viareggio, Pro Lucca, Italy to Giovanni Biagi and Annunziata Micheli Biagi on August 15, 1885.

Arrived to the United Stated from Viareggio, Lucca, Italy to Ellis Island aboard the Dante Alighieri.

She married Luigi Calzetta on April 17, 1918 in St. Agatha's Church and together they had two sons; John and Robert.

She passed away on August 17, 1975 in New Jersey. She is Entombed in the Queen of Heaven Cemetery & Mausoleums in Hillside, Cook County, Illinois
