Theologian, Author. He was one of the 20th century's most influential theologians. His opposition to Nazi German dictator Adolph Hitler forced him out of Germany, after which he taught at the University of Basel. An opponent of theological liberalism, he thought all theology could be deduced from the Bible. "Church Dogmatics" is his most famous published work. Other significant books are "The Humanity of God," and "Church and State."
