She passed away May 30, 2012, in Dallas.
She was born Aug. 19, 1916, in the Tundra community to Lylie Francis and Sarah Hobbs Pruitt.
She was married 45 years to her husband, Bill, before his passing in 1990. Frances graduated from Canton High School in 1933 and from North Texas State University in 1938, where she received her teaching certificate. She taught school in Edom and mostly in Mineola. She was a home economics major.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, W.W. Bill Ashworth; sister, Kathleen Pruitt; brother, Dr. Bon Hobbs Pruitt; and infant son, Woodrow Truitt Ashworth.
