RITES THURSDAY FOR ERNIE BROWN

Services will be held Thursday for Ernest W. Brown, 68, of Gladwin City, who died Jan. 1, following a short illness.

Born in St. Louis, Mich., May 6, 1890, Ernest William Brown, had been a resident of Gladwin County for the past 63 years. He and the former Miss Edna Ritchie were married in Gladwin Oct. 24, 1920. During his lifetime, he had farmed, operated the Brown's Corners grocery store in Grout Township for seven years, and served as custodian of the Gladwin County court house from 1954 to 1966 when he retired.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Edna, are two daughters, Mrs. Opal Miller of Midland and Mrs. Doris Raymond of Franklin, Mass.; three sons, Elmer of St. Louis, Eldon of Beaverton, and Larry of Gladwin; a sister Mrs. Sadie Boakes of Gladwin; 18 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

The services will be held Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the Hall Funeral Home with the Rev. Nelson Clair officiating and burial will be in the Butman Cemetery. Gladwin County Record dated 1-3/1968
