Roy Adams was born on May 7, 1926 in Comanche, Texas to Leroy and Nina Adams. After high school, he joined the Navy where he was in the shore police. Returning home, he was a farmer and rancher in the Sidney community. He later entered the telephone industry as the general manager of Comanche County Telephone Coop until 1974. He finished his career with Power and Telephone Supply as a salesman and was very successful. His many friends in the industry still fondly remember him as the "donut man." After retirement, he loved spending time with his family and friends, especially his friends from The Church of the Good Shepherd, where he loved riding his lawn mower keeping the grounds groomed. He had a love for the Western culture and believed in the "Cowboy way."
