Thomas Jefferson "Tommy" Allen was born on August 19, 1935 in Weleetka, Oklahoma to Vera Barnes Allen and James Beach Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Joycie Kincey; and second wife, Louella Crawford. Allen had many accomplishments in his life. He was a very talented athlete; some said he was the best all-around athlete to graduate from Crystal City High School. A musician and songwriter, he had several bands. He went to Nashville, Tenn., many times to record his songs, and a number of his songs were recorded by other artists. He owned his own record company, Vaquero Records. Allen also owned a construction company and one of the first hunting services in Crystal City. He was always involved in agriculture and ranching, and was a successful cattleman for many years. He enjoyed the challenges this brought. Allen valued the friendship of his fellow cattlemen, and said he got to be with the best. He is survived by one brother, James Beach Allen Jr. and wife, Sylvia, of Crystal City; two nephews, Brent Allen of Crystal City and Dean Allen of Boerne; longtime companion, Beth Pringle of Sabinal; one stepdaughter, Paulene Barrios of Uvalde; three step-grandchildren, Michelle Bollier, Tommy Gallager and Eben Brady; numerous relatives; and many friends.
