He was a retired teacher and assistant athletic director for Butler High School, where he was known as "Mr. Butler." He was inducted into several athletic "Halls of Fame," was a KY Colonel, and was the "voice" of Shively Park. Leonard was a member of Shively Heights Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a member of the choir.
Leonard devoted his life to teaching and coaching young people in the community, and his influence on the lives of those he touched will last a lifetime.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Lynn Bower.
Survivors include his devoted bride of 55 years, Dorothy Hutchinson Bloss; his daughter, Elizabeth Anne Bloss Taylor (John); son, David Allen Bloss (Nancy); grandchildren, Lesley-Anne Bloss Duke (David), Wesley Taylor, Olivia Bloss, Abigail Bloss and Corinne DeWolfe; great-grandson, Brandon Christopher Duke; and his brother, Dr. Bryant Allen Bloss; niece, Catherine Bloss Miller; nephew, Harold Bloss.
