He graduated from Georgetown College, Georgetown, KY, in 1954 and the
University of Louisville, Medical School in 1958. He served an Internship at St.
Joseph Infirmary, Louisville, KY, in 1959 and an Orthopaedic Surgery Residency
at The University of Louisville Hospital, from 1959-63 (6 months hand surgery-
Doctor Harold Kleinert, Louisville, KY).
In 1963 he began his Orthopaedic Surgery private practice with special interest in
reconstructive surgery for arthritis, hand surgery and sports medicine, in
Evansville. He was an Associate Faculty member at Indiana University School of
Medicine, Evansville Center for Medical Education, 1970-90. He was Board
Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, in 1967. Dr. Bloss
performed the first total hip replacement in Indiana in 1969 and Kentucky in
1970.
He was a member and Deacon at Gateway Baptist Church, member of the
American Medical Society, Tri-State Medical Society and Academy of Orthopedic
Surgeons. He was a charter member of Tri-State Racquet Club and Sports World
Ministries.
Bryant was preceded in death by his first wife Bette Anne Dalton Bloss in 2008
and his brother LCM Bloss, Jr. in 2010.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bloss; daughter, Cathy Miller (Greg), of
Owensboro,KY; son, Hal Bloss (Beth) of Evansville; grandchildren, Laura Miller,
Evan Bryant Miller, of Owensboro, KY, Sarah Bloss Harris (Zach) of Newburgh,
IN and Kimberly Bloss of Evansville, IN.
