Professor of drama at Baldwin-Wallace College. Founder (1957) of the Berea Summer Theatre, managing it for 40 years. Staged plays by John Patrick ("The Teahouse of the August Moon"), Samuel Taylor, Howard Lindsay and Russell Crouse and Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. His 1972 production of "Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris" became the longest-running play in Ohio at that time. He also was head of the Ohio Community Theatre Association and was president of the Ohio Theatre Alliance. In all, he directed almost 200 plays and musicals, retiring from teaching in 1998, and one of the theatres in the arts complex of Baldwin Wallace was named in his honor.
