Donald Hill, 89, died Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, November 2, at Grandview Park Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Rising Sun Cemetery.

Donald was born in Spring Hill, Iowa and has lived in Des Moines most of his life. He was a WWII Army Veteran and a retired steam fitter from Local 33. Don enjoyed his cabin by the lake in Minnesota and hunting. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his children, Connie (Jim) Fisher of Ankeny, Mary (Mike) Knode of Des Moines, Earl (Marie) Hill of Des Moines, and Janeene Hill of Des Moines; eleven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and his brother, Earl Hill. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Anna.

Visitation will begin after 4 p.m., Thursday at Grandview Park Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Southtown Baptist Church.
