Dr. Aranosian died December 17 after crashing his truck on I-75 on his way home from a hospital meeting. Known as Dr. Bob, he was the director of emergency medicine at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan and chairman of the Oakland County Medical Control Authority, the sanctioning body for paramedics and EMTs. He was hailed as the pioneer of emergency services. Dr. Bob was always willing to get on the front lines of emergencies. He would let other paramedics do their jobs, but he would still offer his own assistance.
