Jazz Musician. A jazz drummer, he played along side Duke Ellington, Charlie Parker and Miles Davis, among others, who is best known as a member of John Coltrane's quartet from 1960 to 1965 and can be heard on some of Coltrane's most famous recordings, and who recorded two dozen albums of his own and toured prolifically.
