Born in a sod house in Kansas to pioneer parents that had traveled west from New London, Ohio in a covered wagon. They returned to Ohio by train when the family was little. Harry and brother, Floyd, bought a farm together as young men. Harry continued to farm that property until his death. Never married, he was active in Grange, traveling all over the county, was involved in Fitchville politics, a member of the LOOF's,and served on the Board of Directors for Firelands Electric Co, Best memory of my Uncle Harry - Saturday mornings all the "old" farmers would come to town and gather in my Dad's hardware store. I was to little to climb up on the nail counter where they were sitting or leaning on, so he would pick me up and let me sit with them....He was a kind and gentle man whose word was never doubted.
