Irving Pickelny, 4 and 1/2 months, went missing from his home on Grand Street on the East Side on October 26, 1923. His disappearance captured the public's attention and a massive manhunt was undertaken to find the litle boy. His body was found in a sub-cellar the following month. The New York Times reported that 150,000 people came out to pay their respects on the day of his funeral.
