Funeral services for Christine" Tina" Angel will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at The Church of Living God, 901 Alabama St., Helena-West Helena. Rev. Thomas Gipson will officiate. Burial will be in New Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11 at Allen Temple AME Church.
Christine "Tina" Angel was born in Brownsville, Tenn. to the late Herman Thomas Sr. and Lula Mae Williams. Her father affectionately nicknamed her Tina. Tina moved to Helena-West Helena where she was raised and educated. Tina had a passion for educating children and did so for 24 years as a teacher's aide in the Helena-West Helena School District. She was a very generous and kindhearted woman. She was always willing to help others in anyway she could assist. Tina was a gracious host to all who came into her home. She loved to cook for her children and grandchildren. She was an active member of Allen Temple A.M.E. Church until her health failed. Tina was truly one of a kind and her family and friends will miss her. Her husband, Clifton Angel Jr., her father, Herman Thomas Sr., her stepfather, Nathaniel Bailey Sr. and grandmother, Janie Williams, precedes Tina in death.
