Fluffy came to us from my cousin's farm, and she was a very nervous cat from the start, but she settled in with us and was happy. She loved to sit on my knee and in the garden, but if she heard a noise, she would run down to the door and meow to come in. She loved to spend time with us, and was happier indoors than outside, but she enjoyed the sunshine in the garden.
One day Fluffy disappeared, and we looked and looked for her, and were very worried. We found her after a few days in a barn near us, I think a dog had frightened her and she went to hide. We were so relieved that she was OK. Fluffy disappeared on the day my dear Dad passed away, and did not appear again until the day of his funeral. That was very strange, we never knew where she had been.
Fluffy was only five when she developed a very severe illness of her blood. Her little gums and pads were white, and she was exhausted all the time. The vet couldn't do anything else for her, and we took her to the big vet training school at Cambridge where they had specialist equipment, and they said that all her red blood cells were collecting in her liver. We knew that she would not get better, so we had to make the decision to have her put to sleep. It was very upsetting, but at least she wasn't suffering any more, and she did give us love in our household. Rest little Fluffy with your sisters.
