Frances Sigmon Abernethy, age 88, of Catawba passed away Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Abernethy Laurels in Newton. Born February 24, 1928 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Early Alexander and Rena Gabriel Sigmon. Frances was a member of Center United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Reeves Abernethy, daughter, Lori Chamberlin, sister, Betty Sherrill and brother, Bud Sigmon.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at Center United Methodist Church in Catawba with Rev. Paula R. Northrup officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
