Philanthropist and Scocial Visionary. Daughter of Judge Thomas C. Love. She was one of the most prominent advocates to the "Social Gospel" which was a humanitarian movement during the late 19th Century interested in solutions to urban problems, especially poverty. Maria worked with William Prior Letchworth to get children form Buffalo orphanages to spend time at his home at Glen Iris. Her Brother, George Maltby Love was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor for the Civil War. The grave is located right next to the plot of President Millard Fillmore.
