Orval Claud Abbott, age 71, of Weidman (Isabella County), Michigan, died Friday, January 20, 1989, at the Ingham Medical Center, in Lansing (Ingham County), Michigan.
Mr. Abbott was born November 17, 1917, in Sherman Township, Isabella County, Michigan, the son of Ozro and Bessie (DeGroat) Abbott. He married Reva Eleanor Baldwin on March 20, 1942, in Lansing (Ingham County), Michigan.
Mr. Abbott and his wife made their home in the Lansing (Ingham County) area until 1945, when he was discharged from the United States Army. They moved to Middleton, Michigan, and eventually settled in the Weidman (Isabella County) area.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Monday at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton, Michigan, with the Reverend Marvin Eldridge officiating and interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Weidman (Isabella County), Michigan.
Friends may call the funeral home today from 2:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. and Monday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services.
He is survived by his wife, Reva; three sons, Carl Charles and Karen Sue Abbott, of Shepherd (Isabella County), Michigan, Kenneth Eldon and Ruth Abbott, of Alma (Gratiot County), Michigan and Donald Abbott, of Lake, Michigan; one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Beverly) Smith, of Carsonville, Michigan; two brothers, Norman Abbott, of Weidman (Isabella County), Michigan and Donald and Berdie Abbott, of Arcadia, Florida; one sister, Grace Swanson, of Mt. Pleasant (Isabella County), Michigan; 34 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Harold and Dell.
Memorials may be made to the Baptist Church of Weidman, Michigan.
