Services for Alvis Eugene Grizzle, 71, of Norman, will be 10:00AM Monday, November 7, 2011 at Crosspointe Church. Pastors Jerry Rhodes and Joe Grizzle will officiate. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Alvis was born March 4, 1940 to Alvis Elmer and Maybelle (Argo) Grizzle in Norman, Oklahoma. He attended Norman High School. In 1973 he married Sharon May Richmond in Norman.
Alvis worked as a sanitation truck driver for the City of Norman for 7 years and the City of Moore for 15. He liked Nascar and enjoyed watching the races, and took an interest in Sprint cars.
Alvis and Sharon are longtime members of Crosspointe Church.
Alvis is preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law Gary Dean and Nancy Jane Grizzle of Norman.
He is survived by his loving wife of the home Sharon; son Darrel Gene Grizzle and wife LaDona Jill of Tecumseh; sister Wanda Frady and husband Gary; granddaughter Amanda Kaye; four nieces; one nephew; and two great nieces.
