SOLOMON Y. WEIDENHAMMER, 76 veteran saddler and harness maker died at his home in Fleetwood. He was a son of the late Amos G. and Esther (Yoder) Weidenhammer, was born in Richmond Township. He was a member Fleetwood Nest, 23 Orioles; Yuma Tribe, No. 438, Improved Order of Red Men; P. O. S. of A., Hamburg; Modern Woodmen of World 525, and Fleetwood Fire Company. He was also a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Church, and the Aeolian Chorus.
On April 20 last, Mr. Weidenhammer and his wife, Susanna C. (Smith) observed their 58th wedding anniversary. ...Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 o'clock at the house. Services in Emmanuel Evangelical Church, the Rev. R. S. Kresge, pastor, officiating. Interment will be made in Fleetwood Cemetery. Funeral Director Walter J. Christ, has charge.
Solomon was born in Richmond Township, Berks County Penna. and is buried on Fleetwood Cemetery. He went to public schools whenever time and work on the farm permitted. After reaching maturity he started farming on his own, these farms were leased on the basis of share and share alike. The one farm he worked was a mile east of Shoemakersville. Later he carpentered, was a saddle maker and eterinarian in Fleetwood.
