Ruby Parpart Anderson, 99, a resident of Extended Care at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo, died Tuesday, May 23, 2006, at the hospital.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo. The Rev. Robert K. Freeman will officiate. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Geneseo.

Ruby Loretta Weber was born July 21, 1906, in Phoenix Township, Henry County. She was the daughter of Jacob and Della Little Weber. She attended Oakridge and Bunker Hill Grade School and graduated from Geneseo Township High School in 1924. On Oct. 6, 1927, she married Albert Parpart at the First Methodist parsonage, Geneseo. He died Aug. 16, 1978. On July 26, 1986, she married Willard P. Anderson at the Grace Methodist Chapel, Geneseo. He died Nov. 30, 1993.

Ruby was an active member of First United Methodist Church, U.M.W. and Corinthian Class for more than 60 years. She completed the American Red Cross Volunteer Service Course for Nurses Aide Corps in August 1945. During World War II she worked as a volunteer at Hammond-Henry Hospital for six years. She received a framed citation from Western Illinois for her volunteer work as a senior citizen. Ruby delivered Meals on Wheels for 15 years. She was a member of Columbian Club, Geneseo Senior Citizen and AARP.

Survivors include sister, Shirley Tomlinson, Geneseo; sister-in-law, Mary Kathryn Anderson, Geneseo; stepson, Willard P. Anderson, Huntington, Ind.; stepson-in-law, John Lamiot, Batavia, Ill.; four stepgrandchildren; five nieces, Carol Krueger, Normal, Ill., Sharon Stanford, Olympia, Wash., Geraldine Weimer, Geneseo, Phyllis Parpart, Princeton, Ill., Mary Rubbert, Lyden, Wash.; two nephews, John and Gary Tomlinson, Geneseo; several great-nieces and -nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Nellie Neuleib; and stepdaughter, Mary Lamiot.
