Funeral services and Mass of Christian Burial for Jim "Andy" Andresen, 59, of Bettendorf, will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, with military rites conducted by Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 299.

Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries Funeral Home, Davenport. The family invites you to join them in a rosary at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Edwin A. Motto Dialysis Center at Genesis Medical Center, East Campus, or St. Anthony's Care and Share.

Jim died Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at Trinity at Terrace Park, Bettendorf, after a sudden illness.

James C. Andresen was born Nov. 22, 1946, in Davenport, son of Clifford and Stella Baker Andresen. He graduated from Davenport Central High School in 1965. Jim was united in marriage to Rebecca Pottratz Feb. 10, 1973.

Jim currently was employed in commercial fleet sales at Lindquist Ford Inc., Bettendorf.

Jim was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Davenport. He served his country in Vietnam as a combat infantryman attached to the canine corps.

Jim was a very caring man with an amazing sense of humor, making him a wonderful father and a loyal friend to many. His greatest pleasure in life was spending time with his children and being in the company of his friends and family. Jim will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all.

Survivors (and spouses) include his daughter, Meridyth Marie Andresen, Phoenix, Ariz.; a son, Ryan James Andresen, Bettendorf; sisters, Gwen (John) Korn, Bettendorf, and Jeanne (Bob) Bohnsack, New Liberty; and many nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Kim Bohnsack.
