Martha L. Ahlgren, 92, of East Moline, IL, died Monday, March 14, 2016, at home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Lung Association or to her family.
Martha was born on June 28, 1923, in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Louis V. and Bessie Carr Mallory. She married Dale Bradford Ahlgren on February 2, 1946, at Memorial Christian Church in Rock Island, IL, and he preceded her in death on July 25, 2006. She worked for the Rock Island Arsenal until her retirement in 1981.
Martha enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, and playing Bunco. She loved watching the Cubs and the Hawkeyes, Wheel of Fortune, and the Investigation Discovery Channel.
Survivors include her son, Robert Ahlgren, Iowa City; daughters, Janine Ahlgren, Port Byron, IL, Karen (Mike Callahan) Ahlgren, East Moline, IL, Sharon (Eric) Johnson, Woodhull, IL; daughter-in-law, Bobbie Ahlgren, AR; grandchildren, Sam Johnson, Alex Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Kelly Proper, Jeremy Jones, David (DJ) Ahlgren, Jr.; step grandchildren, Kristopher Wimpey and Edward Brock; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; son, David; brothers, Bill Mallory, Roland Mallory, and Don Mallory; brothers-in-law, Don Ahlgren and Raymond Ahlgren; mother and father-in-law, Josephine and Oscar Ahlgren.
