Married to J.W. Mayfield, October 10, 1958; children Jana Denise, Shari Ann, Joseph Ray; parents C.L. and Mahala McMahon, brothers Joseph Lee McMahon, James Lewis McMahon, Christian, member New Liberty Baptist Church, Garland, Texas. J.W. and Alma met in Hubbard, Texas High School in 1955 and began dating at that time. After a short time in the United States Air Force, J.W. and Alma were reunited and married in 1958. After being discharged from the USAF, in 1960, J.W. and Alma settled in Garland, Texas where J.W. became a Garland Police Officer and Alma was employed at Texas Instruments after the birth of their first child, Jana. We remained in Garland all of our married life, except a short time when we moved home to Hubbard, Texas in 1980 and returned to Garland in 1981. J.W. and Alma also lived in Electra, Texas from 1993 to 1995 after J.W. retired from the Garland Police Department and was Chief of Police in Electra, Texas for that period. We returned to Garland in 1995 to our home and lived there until Alma passed away of a heart attack on December 16, 2004. This loving 46 year relationship in marriage is the highlight of both our lives. As Christians, we also believe we shall see each other again soon and this longing to be with each other will be fulfilled at that time in heaven. Alma's children were the priority of her life and she was a wonderful and caring Mother. She was also very talented in many other ways including public speaking, arts and crafts and as an activity director for the elderly in nursing facilities. She lived a full and happy life and will be missed always by her family and her many, many friends.
