MRS. MARY J. ADAMS
A Spring Valley Lady Called Away from Earth
Mrs. Mary J. Adams, widow of the late William Adams, was called away from earth at her home in Spring Valley at two o'clock this morning. She had been sick nearly all winter, first being attacked by la grippe. She was also troubled with pleurisy and in her old age and weakened condition was unable to withstand the disease. The end came very quietly and peacefully.
The deceased was born in Rappahannock county, VA., in 1812 and was therefore at the time of her death eighty-four years of age. She had been a resident of Spring Valley since 1859. Her husband, Wm. Adams died in 1879 and a family of nine children are left to mourn the death of a loving mother.
The children are as follows: Marcellus, of Byron Center, Mich., Wm. and James of Spring Valley, John of Columbus, Mrs. Fenton Squires of near Waynesville, Mrs. Emma McKnight, of Spring Valley, Mrs. Belle Reed, wife of Rev. Reed of Blanchester, O., and Missess Alice and Sallie who made their home with their mother and ministered to her comfort during her declining years. She also leaves two half sisters, Mrs. Margaret Daugherty, of La Fayette Ind., and Mrs. Bogson, of Oxford, Ind.
The funeral will take place on Friday afternoon at one o'clock.
