Olga Bowen, 60, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 7, 2009, at her home in Ulysses.

She was born June 3, 1949, in Liberty, Texas, to William Howard and Lois Jeanette Black Belsha.

On March 12, 2005, she married Sheldon Eugene Bowen, in Shelby, Texas, whom she met on the Internet. They enjoyed taking afternoon drives throughout the area. He died April 9, 2007. She also was preceded in death by her mother; a stillborn child; and a sister, Mary Lynn Gipson.

A Ulysses resident since December 2008, Mrs. Bowen's hobbies included her computer, gardening, flowers and crocheting. She was a member of Redeemed Unto Life Healing Center in Ulysses.

Survivors include her father, of Logansport, La.; a half brother, Randal Belsha of Logansport; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews and nieces.

Funeral was at 2 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2009, at Grant County Funeral Home Chapel, Ulysses, officiated by Bart Lillibridge, pastor. Burial in Ulysses Cemetery.

Friends signed the registry from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009, and 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 14, 2009, at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Redeemed Unto Life Healing Center or the donor's choice, both in care of the funeral home, 218 S. Main, Ulysses, KS 67880.
