Carl was the son of Daniel and Carolyn Larson of Lemont Illinois. He studied Classical Languages and Literature at the University of Illinois - Chicago Circle Campus. Carl had a remarkable facility with language and was fluent in seven including Spanish, Greek and French. He worked for the Illinois Department of Human Services as a Rehabilitation Services Advisor. Carl was a religious person who was interested in many beliefs; he also read widely on many subjects and had a wonderful sense of humor.
He enjoyed different kinds of music and introduced me to opera with a recording of Verdi's Aida. Much of the time I spent with him had some classical music playing in the background. One of his other favorite pieces was Richardson's Beachcomber, as it reminded him of the simple pleasure of being on a beach.
