ARTHUR P. ATKINSON
Arthur P. Atkinson, 67, died Tuesday, March 15, at the Pine Bluff Sanatorium, in Salisbury. Before retiring for ill health, Mr. Atkinson was sales manager for the Nuttle Lumber Companies, and prior to that worked as a field representative for E. S. Adkins Lumber Company. He is the son of Robert J. Atkinson, who now lives in Salisbury, and the late Mary Maddox Atkinson.
Mr. Atkinson is survived by his wife, Marie Townsend Atkinson, who lives here; a brother, Norman Atkinson, Delmar; two sisters, Mrs. Howard Humphreys, Salisbury, and Mrs. Norman Powell, Salisbury; the following children, Robert T. Atkinson, Dallas, Texas; Harry D. Atkinson, Watertown, N.Y.; John R. Atkinson, Miami, Florida; one daughter, Mrs. J. P. Walker, Leonardtown, Md.; also six grandchildren.
Funeral services will be from the Hill and Johnson Funeral Home, in Salisbury, today (Friday), March 18, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Otho G. Brewer, Jr., pastor of The First Methodist Church, Denton, where Mr. Atkinson was a member for many years, will officiate. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Salsibury.
