Memorial graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 4, at Woodbine Cemetery for Roy Dean Atteberry of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Atteberry, 74, died Friday, October 31, 2014 at Artesia General Hospital.

Lloyd Simpson will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Roy was born November 6, 1939 in McLean, Texas; the son of Francis S. Atteberry and Beatrice (Wilson) Atteberry.

He served his country in the United States Army.

On March 21, 1961 he was married to Linda "Lynn" Simpson. They moved to Artesia from Roswell, N.M. in 1971.

Roy was a Lineman for Central Valley Electric for 30 years and retired in 1994. He was an avid outdoorsman including hunting and fishing and loved spending time with his family in the mountains.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son David Atteberry; brothers Chester, J.W., and Francis Atteberry, Jr.; sister Eva Story; and a son-in-law Henry Jimenez.
