Daughter of Wiley Frank M. Ferguson and his wife Belle, Annie graduated from High School at Wilson, Arkansas in 1925. That same year she married Elmore Harmon, who was working at the old Kansas City Shook Box factory in Wilson. They had two sons, Elmore, Jr. and George Richard Harmon. The family relocated to Elmore's hometown of Sardis, Mississippi in 1937. After the Second World War began, there was a hard period as Elmore's health deteriorated -- the result of injuries sustained during World War I. He died in December, 1943. About one year before her husband's death, Annie took a job as a secretary in the Unit Control office of Sears Roebuck, Company in Memphis and remained there until she retired in 1962. She was a devout Baptist, first teaching Sunday School in her hometown of Wilson, Arkansas and in later years at Bellevue and Colonial Baptist Churches in Memphis, Tennessee.
